Originally from the Bay of Plenty, Maraea left briefly for study and work but returned home in the late 2000s to contribute her skills locally.

As leader of our research operations, Maraea oversees projects grounded in kaupapa Māori methodologies, embedding Māori values and ways of knowing into all phases of design, delivery, and evaluation.

With a varied professional background in events, tourism, and banking — along with a Bachelor of Social Science in Psychology & Human Resources and additional qualifications in business and tourism — Maraea brings a diverse and well-rounded perspective to our team. Her blend of analytical insight and cultural wisdom ensures our research work is both impactful and meaningful.
